Assistant Professor at the University of Florence, School of Engineering, Dpt. of Information Engineering. Born in Florence, Doctor in Engineering at the University of Florence in 2000. IEEE Senior member, and AEIT Toscana-Umbria section councilor.
His role as a teacher of Network Security and Management in the University of Florence works in tandem with research activities spanning from network security, to Internet of Things, and 5G technologies for Smart Buildings / Smart Cities. He was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Saint Louis (MO, USA) in 2018 and 2019, with a course on IoT systems.
He is constantly collaborating with national and international academic and industrial partners both for scientific projects (e.g., EU-founded projects), and industrial projects, with a particular emphasis on technology transfer and innovative applications of next-generation devices, e.g., for assisted living, smart energy management, healthcare, etc., constantly with a peculiar attention to user’s privacy, security, and safety.
